Tranquil Alentejo Villa with pool

Beautiful villa with a stunning pool. Everything is as shown in the photos, with the added bonus of being right next to the terrace by a large rock that you can easily walk on, providing a wonderful view of the surroundings. The manager is a Portuguese man who only speaks Portuguese, but with Google Translate, we were still able to understand each other 😀 During the 10 days we stayed here, he came by three times to take care of the pool and to check if everything was okay, really a super sweet and friendly man. The house was exactly as previously mentioned, just like in the photos... but a few years ago. There were a few spots here and there that needed attention due to the wear and tear of time. The worst part was the air conditioning units, which were equipped with a flower box underneath because they leaked so badly. For us, it wasn't a stumbling block to empty them every day, but this, along with a few other minor issues, indicates that a little refresh could really set this villa apart even more. The road to the villa involves a 5-minute drive on an unpaved (sometimes rough) road, which I didn't feel great about the first time I had to do it with our car. We have a Tesla Model Y, and I was a bit worried a few times that I would hit some rocks, but luckily it always went well; however, I definitely wouldn't recommend this with a lower car. The advantage is, of course, that you are very quiet and secluded, but the downside is that you can't just walk to get some sandwiches. The nearest supermarket that matters is about 20 km away. For us, this was one of the most beautiful vacations, especially because of the (large) pool and the lovely terrace with a beautiful view of the surroundings.

Beautiful secluded house with large swimming pool and well equipped. Only small downside knowing that we are in the countryside but there were a lot of wasps which spoiled our stay a little.

Blissful tranquility in a sun-drenched place. Top environment for those looking for tranquility. Prima swimming pool where you can really swim. Good beds. Some of the household goods need to be replaced. The air conditioner is leaking. ……..We enjoy Portugal

It was a fantastic stay in this beautiful home. Lovely swimming pool and amazing location. Very quiet and private.

The property was clean and spacious with everything we could ask for - the gas ran out and was promptly replaced when we advised the caretaker, who also took the time and effort to warn us about scorpions, which was very much appreciated!

Although the stay was pleasant and the availability of the staff supporting the house cleaning and swimming pool maintenance, the house is requiring additional maintenance and further appliances and kitchen equipment.

Despite me and my family really enjoyed being at Quinta do Couto, we have some important complaints to make, which were not solved during the period of our stay and persisted during the entire week we spent there: a) The TV channels only worked a couple of hours a day, with no apparent reason; b) The internet sign was nonexistent, which caused me grave inconveniences, since my work depends on me being online most of the time; c) None of the beds had sheets (problem solved during the second day of our stay, with the housemaid, after some pressure on the owner and several phone calls); d) The air conditioning malfunctioned in the living room (if turned on long enough, it would pour water into the ground); Regardly
