From kayaking on De Tolplas lake to hiking through nearby nature reserves, outdoor lovers will find endless ways to explore. With pet-friendly walking routes and off-leash areas in Het Wierdense Veld, your dog will love the getaway just as much as you do. After a day out, relax under the trees in your private garden with a glass of wine or enjoy a warm sauna session indoors.
Though the on-site restaurant is temporarily closed (Jan 14 – Feb 3, 2026), you won’t have to look far for a satisfying meal. The nearby towns of Wierden and Almelo offer charming local eateries like Restaurant Ledeboer for upscale dining and Eetcafé ’t Witte Hoes for casual bites. Most spots warmly welcome pets on their terraces, making dining out a treat for all. Everything you need for a rejuvenating and pet-inclusive stay is right here at Tolplas!
Note: During Easter, the event Hexel on Wheels will take place on Saturday, April 4, and Monday, April 6, next to the park. This is a fun cross-event for both young and old. Please note that the event will be audible from within the park.

Leuk park, prima huisje. Alleen de matrassen veel te hard en de kussens te dun. Jammer dat hier onvoldoende opgelet wordt. Goed slapen is belangrijk. Ik kon absoluut niet slapen op mijn rug door het harde matras en opstaan met zere schouderbladen. Dit weekend bijkomen, anders maandag niet uitgerust op mijn werk. Ook veel honden haren op grond woonkamer, de haren goed zichtbaar achter/onder de bank. Meteen vakantie begonnen met stofzuigen, terwijl je een hoop schoonmaakkosten betaald.

There is little space for a 6 person house. The steam shower is wonderful but the space is therefore small. Furthermore, the house is outdated with some new furniture. A 2 seater bench and 2 chairs. The sauna is nice. For the money it cost, it's a disappointment for us

Well-equipped modern kitchen; inventory is slightly different from the list; something had gone wrong at the reception: the extras had not yet been processed, but this has reasonably been compensated. Interior doors are difficult to close. Terrace with good chairs. The door of the steam shower cabin opens and closes with disturbing noise.
