The antique furniture adds so much character.

It is a wonderfully beautiful large house, very spacious and comfortable, only the access road is very steep and the wifi was down. But the reception was very warm and everything we needed was in the house. Great location for a quiet vacation.

We stayed with friends and had a blast! The kids loved the outdoor space, The hosts were super friendly and helped us with directions to the village for dinner, The Michelin restaurant nearby was such a treat!

This house is truly a picture. Inside and out, just beautiful. Unfortunately. Above the kitchen, between the beams of the first floor, there was a dead animal and it smelled like a decomposing cadaver. We called the manager. He passed quickly and opened the windows of the bedroom above the kitchen; said he would contact the owners (English from London) and then see again. Not heard from him again ... We held the kitchen window open 24/7 and held our breath. At night there is a buzz in the ceiling: Small triple mice and larger animals. Well and sometimes one of them dies and starts to rot. A lot of people would have left with such a rotting stinking cadaver above the kitchen. We made the best of it. By the way, the house got chilly with the windows open. It is located at an altitude of about 1000 meters and it was the end of September. The tap water is not drinkable. (This is also indicated in 4 languages on a sign above the kitchen tap.) If your smartphone indicates that it is about to get cold; tell the manager that he will actually turn on the underfloor heating that is being advertised on the meter cupboard, otherwise it will remain cold. He does not do this on his own. If you are a bit handy and speak a little French, you can possibly do that yourself. The ad says the road is not passable by sports cars. That's right. Not even by ordinary cars that are not sports. The caretaker also does not go down with his normal car, but picks up 4-wheel drive. The difference in height between the house and the place where you can park your car is approximately 45 meters. That is a flat of 15 or 16 floors, whenever you want to leave (for example to get water). We are sporty; I hope you too. When we were there; there were also 3 or 4 tree fellows with chainsaws for 4 days "thinning out" the forest between the car park and the house. What a mess! We had a fantastic stay in this house. Exactly what we wanted - peace, quiet, tranquility. We stayed with young children and the house provided. The surrounding area is beautiful and we loved walking foraging for mushrooms. We hope to visit again!

The surrounding area is rustic. A car with four-wheel drive is helpful. You have to drive to the interesting spots. Very quiet. Very relaxing. There are hiking trails in the area. When it rains, then real falls. It can get cold. Sweaters and good shoes are obligatory! No network connection! No Internet!
