You can explore the rich cultural and historical heritage of Joyeuse, including a 16th-century<U+200B> castle, the Tour de la Recluse and the chestnut museum<U+200B> "Le Musée de la Châtaigneraie”. The old town centre has some good restaurants, where you can enjoy a 'plat du jour’. A must-try delicacy is ‘Macaron de Joyeuse’, a handmade macaron with almonds and nuts and. Inside the house everything was ok, outside however some maintenance was lacking. But only 1 parasol, the outside table looked more like a highway parking table, and there were only 3 decent sunbeds, while the house could accommodate up to 6 people. Luckily there were only 3 of us. Quietly located.

The house itself is hard to find via the GPS so we had to look for something. Once we arrived, we found a very friendly lady who explained the most important things to us. The house was very neat and well equipped. Just a pity that there was no BBQ and that there were only 4 sun loungers by the pool, while we were with 5 adults (and this had passed on). It was a very nice holiday, which we think back with a very nice feeling .
