Just a practical review: the house is spacious and can easily accommodate our group of 12, The bathrooms were clean, and having a shower and a bath was useful for our varied preferences,

Villa Achille was wonderful! Plenty of space (we were six plus a baby and a large dog), nice jacuzzi and sauna. Everything was more than sufficiently available and a lovely large private garden. Note: the electricity meters; it was not clear what we needed to record, which meant that on top of our consumption, we were also charged for the consumption of our predecessors (as it turned out that this was forgotten by the organization to charge them). We had hoped for clearer explanations since we would like to book the same accommodation for a longer period next year.

We consciously chose this cottage because traveling with two wheelchair users and your site states multiple times that it is furnished for wheelchair users (not just wheelchair-friendly or the entrance is without thresholds, but furnished). The reviews were positive and spoke of luxury and comfort. Well, not! We know that it’s never perfect, but this was really a big disappointment. The choice is also not great for 7 people when traveling with two wheelchair users. There is indeed a spacious bathroom and bedroom downstairs, and the entrance is on the same level, but you cannot access the garden from the house (this could have been solved with a simple ramp). That doesn’t seem to be the intention when you consider how beautiful the garden is. Also, the path to the house is not manageable without help due to gravel and a ditch. This could also have been solved with a piece of tread plate and by extending the path. Furthermore, there is 1 fixed grab bar by the toilet downstairs, and it is screwed into the wooden wall of the sauna (so you wouldn’t dare put any force on it). The bathroom could not be locked (and that was the only toilet downstairs). With an electric wheelchair, you could not get into the bathroom due to the turn. Also, the bedroom downstairs was quite full, so my sister-in-law had to partially remove the furniture first. We immediately emailed, but the response from the landlord Ardennes Online was that it is suitable for manual wheelchairs. But then don’t say on the site that it is furnished for wheelchairs! Moreover, you still couldn’t get into the garden with a manual wheelchair. Fortunately, we had family with us, but if we had traveled alone (without walkers), this would have been really impossible. In the bedroom downstairs, there was a small double bed with a wooden board as a bed base and a thin mattress with dips that made you roll towards each other. The only nice thing was the spacious living room. Additionally, the house was incredibly dirty! We had to wash everything first because there were food residues and stickiness everywhere. There was a tampon under the couch. Stains on the mattress. The bed base of one of the beds upstairs was broken. They did repair it the next day, but it cost my mother-in-law her sleep. There was also broken glass on the terrace. Not handy when you have a 2-year-old with you. In any case, the photos on the site are much more beautiful than reality. The electrical wiring is loose everywhere, and outside there is just a power strip for indoors mounted against the wall for the outdoor lamp. We complained about the limited accessibility and dirtiness. Accessibility was not an argument, according to the response from the intermediary, because we had not requested the details in advance. True, we don’t need many adjustments, and if it states twice that it is furnished for wheelchairs... This seems to be the world upside down to me. It shouldn’t be our problem that the information on the site is incorrect, right? And about the dirtiness, well, they do deduct 65 whole euros from the 150 euro cleaning costs. They should have refunded us money considering how long my sister-in-law spent trying to get somewhat clean dishes. The response to the complaint particularly bothers us, as well as the total lack of understanding from Ardennes Online. I don’t think you should want that as Belvilla.

Temperature in the house cannot be regulated. There was glass on the terrace, which is unacceptable, as children walk barefoot to the jacuzzi (a big downside). It was noisy at night in the downstairs bedroom when the toilet was flushed. Mattresses were poor for some. Positive: the manager of the jacuzzi immediately resolved the issue with its operation, large living area.
