Pleasant holiday home in the heart of Gratangsbotn, 35 km north of the city of Narvik. The house is surrounded by a large wilderness area, ideal for hiking in the forest and mountains, and fishing in the many lakes. Great skiing in winter, 35 km to Narvik alpine slope. Great starting point for road trips. Built in 1924 and renovated in 2024, the house is a pleasant holiday home with a nice kitchen and bathroom. 3 bedrooms on the first floor, each with a double bed. Free internet with good capacity and television with many international channels. Woodburning stove with glass door in the living room that provides good heat even on cold winter days. Child friendly area around the house. Bonfire pan. The house, which was originally a small farm, is located by Gratangsfjellet, a large mountain and wilderness area great for hiking in all types of terrain, including mountain peaks. Great fishing in the fjord and in many lakes and rivers. 7 km to the nearest ski slope with lights, 5 km to Øse with alpine center. In winter, there are ski slopes here. On Storvannet by Øse there are opportunities for Kiting. By Narvik, you will find one of the roughest alpine resorts in Norway. On days and nights with good weather, you can experience the northern lights in the polar sky. Good starting point for day trips by car. 60 km to Harstad/Evenes airport. Visit the North Norwegian Boat Museum in Gratangsbotn with a collection of old boats and fishing gear. During the WW2, Gratangsfjellet was a battlefield, and there are several memorials on the mountain. Narvik and Ofotfjorden were central during WW2 with several naval battles; this can be studied in more detail at the war museum in the city. Also take the trip to Senja, where you can take a car ferry to Andøya and a round trip back to the house.
